Fusebox installations or consumer unit installation are the main method of protection for an installation. A consumer unit comprises miniature circuit breakers (overcurrent protection), residual current devices (earth leakage detection) and now surge protection (overvoltage protection).

All these devices are used to incorporate electrical safety using a method called 'automatic disconnection of supply' or ADS. Properly installed equipment will protect your installation and persons within through the correct selection, erection and commissioning of these systems.
